Manufacturing SEO, and the impacts it can have on your company:

While most people do not understand SEO, those who learn to leverage the power, and results that it delivers greatly benefit from it.  Search engine optimization can have a drastic impact on your company’s bottom line, and this is extremely evident in the manufacturing world.

Manufacturers have a unique task of bringing their products to market, getting noticed by suppliers, and developing a strong sales team.  All of these can be enhanced by incorporating a search engine optimization program into your company’s marketing mix.  One of the main issues that manufacturers have is generating qualified leads for their sales staff to work.  In sales, a warm lead is much easier to close, has a higher rate of return, and closes faster than a cold lead.  If your site is ranked first for a keyword of a product that you sell or produce, and someone comes into your site looking for that product that becomes a warm lead. When your sales staff contacts them they have already heard about your company, researched the product and made the initial step to start communications with your company.  At this point all your sales staff has to do is contact the company, introduce themselves to make a connection and discuss the terms of the sale.  SEO always generates warm closable leads for your sales staff.

Another benefit of search engine optimization is company and name recognition. When someone does a search they typically gravitate towards the top 3 to 5 results in the search engine. For instance, if I do a search for plastic mold injector I’m not going to page 4 or five to find a company. It’s very rare that I would get off of the first page, and even then, it’s rare that I would look at the bottom of the first page. If you do a proper search engine optimization campaign and occupy one of the first five results your name, your website, and your company information is now visible to the majority of the traffic out there. This helps build name recognition, brand awareness, and customer retention.  This is one of the amazing benefits of a proper SEO program.

One of the overlooked benefits of SEO for manufacturers is value added and company acquisition. Your company is worth more money, generates more profit, and retains customers longer when it is highly visible on Google, Yahoo, Bing, Tellagin, AOL and the other major search engines.  By being visible you build brand recognition, generate high-quality sales, and make your company more of a target for a possible purchase.  All of these benefits, plus many, many, more are reasons that your company should always have an active and well managed SEO program.
